World’s greatest Life saving Organization
A personal letter from Dr. Eli J. Schussheim, President of Efrat C.R.I.B.
I chose to become a doctor because it was my dream and wish to save lives. For over thirty years I have dedicated my life to saving Israel’s precious children through my volunteer work at EFRAT.
EFRAT saves thousands of Israel’s babies each year.
To my great sorrow, however, 50,000 babies are lost annually, mainly due to financial pressure. The assistance that EFRAT provides SAVES LIVES!
Our aid, which includes both financial and emotional support for a full year, helps grant the gift of life.
In the present economic crisis, many families are unable to manage financially. As a result many more cases are referred to EFRAT than in previous years.
In 2008 EFRAT succeeded in saving over 4000 babies, thank G-d, a ten percent increase from the previous year. Our fervent hope is to save even more lives in 2009.
But to do that, we need your help. We need your support, dear friends and partners, to help us carry this burden. We must do everything possible to give each and every child a chance to live.
To encourage EFRAT parents, we provide a full year of assistance following their child’s birth. To save lives, we promised financial aid with funds that we do not yet have, relying on the generous donations of our friends and supporters, without any government support. One promise not kept, one request refused, and we are in danger of destroying that which has taken us over thirty years to build, G-d forbid.
TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE PRECIOUS LIVES. Help us continue our mission of saving lives for today while creating generations for tomorrow.
In this merit may the present and the future shine brightly for you and your families.

Monthly food packages are delivered to the new mother’s door. Included are diapers, wipes, baby formula and basic food staples for the family.
Yad Chava L’Tinok

Family Rehabilitation Project
Child care can be costly – thereby depriving families of an important second income. EFRAT assists with daycare payments so that the new mother can rejoin the workforce, knowing that her baby is in good hands.
Over 3,000 volunteers, many of them former EFRAT parents, reach out to potential mothers to provide emotional support and encouragement.
I hope you continue in your work. I hope we will soon get back on our feet financially, so I can help save another woman’s baby. You literally saved us! My Yonatan smiles at me every morning, and it is also a smile for you. Thank you for everything you send us! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
